Pastor:
Reverend Mark S. Bozada
From the Desk of Father Mark,
My Dear People,
Forty days after Easter, Jesus ascended to the right hand of the
Father. He told His Disciples, "Go out, teach all nations,
and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit." We have heard this passage from scripture many
times. It is a sobering passage. Unlike those who do not know
Christ, we are responsible for leading each other into heaven.
Once baptized, the soul is sanctified and readied for the journey
HOME. As baptized Christian parents, it is your duty to show your
children and grandchildren, the way HOME. May parents are misled
by the world, into believing that it is their job to make their
children productive and successful in the eyes of everyone who
sees them. Nothing could be further from the TRUTH. Fathers, it is
your primary duty to "sanctify" your household. As head
of the family, your duty is to teach your children about God's
mercy and justice. Mothers, it is your duty to make holy your
children, and husband as well. Both father and mother must point
the way to Jesus Christ. Anything less is a waste of precious
time. So parents, sanctify yourselves in Christ. Make holy your
children and grandchildren. In doing so, you are preparing
yourselves and you offspring to receive glory at God the Father's
right hand.
May
we, through our generous stewardship, help to bring the teachings
of Jesus to all those who need to feel GOD in their lives..
Entrusting you to the care of Our Lady,
Fr. Mark
Please make confession
regularly, at least once a month.

GoodSearch.com....What
would you say if the St. James or St. Mary’s could earn a penny
every time you searched the Internet? Well, now it's possible!
We'd like to introduce you to a new way to help support St. James
or St. Mary’s- without reaching into your own pocketbooks. GoodSearch.com
is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its
advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities
its users designate, including St. James or St. Mary's. Use it
just as you would any search engine, and get the same quality
search results, courtesy of Yahoo, and St. James or St. Mary’s
automatically benefits!
You might think that a penny per search is peanuts, but the
results add up to something big:
But there's more: What if a percentage of your online purchases at
select online stores went to support St. James or St. Mary’s?
Now it can happen!
GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall that donates up to
37 percent of each purchase you make to us. Hundreds of stores
including Amazon.com, Target, Barnes & Noble, ebay, Dell
computers, Macy's, Hotels.com, Alaska Airlines, Ace Hardware,
Stamps.com, and 450+ more have teamed up with GoodShop so that
every time you place an order, you'll be supporting St. James or
St. Mary’s - with nothing extra coming out of your pocket!
Simply click on the "Who do you GoodShop for?" link at GoodSearch.com.
To begin searching and shopping, just go to www.goodsearch.com,
and be sure to enter St. James Catholic Church or St. Mary
Perpetual Help as the charity you wish to support. It's an easy,
painless way to help us, while doing something you already do. Be
sure to tell a friend!
Together We're Better...We
will begin our new parish fundraiser for both parishes this March.
Many parishes have already adopted this program. It is very
simple. We all have to eat, buy gasoline and purchase items for
local merchants. Parishioners purchase certificate cards from us
for local merchants (over 100 local retailers). The parish
receives 2% - 15% directly from these merchants. An average parish
of 150 families can yield up to $40K without spending one penny.
Merchants are winners and so are parishioners. These are the merchants
that participate in "Together We're Better". Call

A
Serious to do list
Enjoying your summer,
and it's relaxed schedule, those shorter to do
lists? Before you get too comfortable consider St.
Augustine's to list "Remember that today, and
everyday of your life you have to.....
God to glorify
Jesus to imitate
A soul to save
A body to mortify
Sins to repent of
Virtues to acquire
Hell to avoid
Eternity to prepare for
Time to profit by
Neighbors to edify
The world to despise
Devils to combat
Passions to subdue
Death, perhaps, to suffer
Judgment to undergo
